Victims of Donvale house fire identified as father and son Calvin and Brandon Reeder

A father and son have been identified as the victims of a fatal house fire in Melbourne’s east at the weekend.

Calvin Reeder, 62, and his son Brendon Reeder, 14, were killed when their home on Craig Rd, Donvale went up in flames early on Saturday morning.

The blaze was brought under control within 45 minutes, but the three-bedroom home was completely gutted, with the bodies of the pair found inside.

Mark Reeder, Calvin’s brother, said Calvin had a “heart of gold” and was a dedicated father.

“(He) would do anything for anybody, loved his son,” he said.
