A Qantas crew member has been taken to hospital after an unusual medical episode on a domestic flight.
Pilots on a Boeing 717 flight from Canberra to Melbourne noticed an unusual smell in the flight deck before landing.
Victorian Ambulance alongside aviation firefighters were called to the plane after landing, where paramedics assessed the pilots and crew on the tarmac. “The pilots did not require any treatment, however one cabin crew member was taken to hospital for further medical checks,” a Qantas spokesperson said in a statement.
“No passengers were impacted by the smell and the aircraft is being checked by engineering.”
The smell did not affect the flight, with the plane landing safely at its destination before emergency services were called in.
