Basketball Australia racial equality review exposes cultural barriers for people of colour

The Australian Human Rights Commission (HRC) has heard the culture of Basketball Australia "can sometimes be exclusionary", that progress can depend on "who you know", and that the organisation "could better represent Australia's diversity across their leadership positions".

Against the backdrop of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests that morphed from a movement on the streets of the USA onto sports fields and arenas around the globe, Basketball Australia proactively commissioned the review to uncover any of its own structural weaknesses.
