My Method for Cleaning Wood Floors

When my husband and I bought our house after having lived in rented apartments for five years, I knew I wanted to have wood floors rather than carpet ones. They are easier to clean, durable, and low maintenance which is why they were perfect for our home that has two children and three dogs.

If you too have wood floors like me then read on to know my method got cleaning them. I learned this simple routine by the end of lease cleaners we have hired to bond clean our last rented apartment. The company that helped get the cleaners was this https://www.bondcleaninginmelbourne.com.au/end-of-lease-cleaning-thornbury/ for your reference.

Cleaning Supplies

Before you start the cleaning process, here are is a list of supplies you’ll need.

  • Vacuum cleaner, broom, or a sweeper

  • Microfiber mop for maximum absorption of cleaning solution and bacteria from the floor

  • A pH neutral floor cleaner or liquid castile soap

  • Warm water

  • A sponge

  • Baking soda

Cleaning Method

Vacuum or sweep the floor to remove dust and debris. Take warm water in a bucket as required and put a few drops of the floor cleaner or soap. Duck the mop in the solution and wring the excess solution before mopping the floor. If the floor has scuff marks or stains, take a damp sponge dipped in baking soda to scrub away them away before wiping with a microfiber cloth.

Remember, cleaning wood floors is simple and easy, don’t complicate things by using chemical cleaners and rough cleaning techniques.
