The comments of men’s rights activist Bettina Arndt, about the death of Hannah Clarke and her three children, have been condemned in parliament today.
Labor frontbenchers Penny Wong and Kristina Keneally moved a motion that Ms Arndt’s comments had the potential to bring the Order of Australia into disrepute.
Senators almost unanimously supported the motion, including that Ms Arndt’s comments were “reckless and abhorrent”, and her views were not consistent with her retaining her Order of Australia.
One Nation senators Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts were the only ones present to vote against the motion.
