The sister of Collingwood veteran Travis Varcoe has died following an accidental on-field collision in Adelaide on Sunday.
Margaret Varcoe, 27, was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury while playing in an Adelaide Football League women's grand final for her club Angle Vale.
Maggie walked off the ground after the on-field collision but collapsed in the change rooms before being taken by ambulance to hospital. Travis was by his sister's side in Adelaide yesterday, along with other family and friends.In a text message to Nine's AFL Footy Show host Eddie McGuire, Travis said Maggie would be "loving the attention"."Maggie would love getting more airtime tonight than her big brother," McGuire read out, before expressing his sympathy to the Varcoe family.
